Royal Caribbean Cruise Classes

Royal Caribbean offer a number of different classes of ships - not to be confused with the bunking options on board each ship. The various classes are a means of grouping the types of ships available in the Royal Caribbean cruise fleet.

Genesis Class

The Genesis Class is the next generation of Royal Caribbean cruise liners; with the first due to enter service in 2009, and the second in 2010, they will be the worlds largest passenger ships; with space for up to 6,400 passengers.

Freedom Class

Royal Caribbean's Freedom Class was introduced with the 'Freedom of the Sea', which in April 2006 became the largest passenger ship in the world, sporting a 400 foot mall, pubs, arcades, shops and café's, as well as the new additions of the Flowrider and the H2O Kids Zone.

Voyager Class

The Voyager Class is the classic line of Royal Caribbean Cruise ships; each with a mall, basketball court, skating rink, mini-golf, and a climbing wall. The Voyager Class consists of the 'Adventure of the Seas', the 'Explorer of the Seas', the 'Mariner of the Seas', the Navigator of the Seas', and the 'Voyager of the Seas'.

Radiance Class

Older than Royal Caribbean Cruise's Voyager Class, each member of the Radiance Class; the 'Brilliance', 'Jewel', 'Radiance', and 'Serenade of the Seas', features gas turbine engines for more environmentally friendly power, exterior viewing elevators, more than 700 staterooms with balconies, glass contained dinning rooms and pools, and the first ever self-leveling billiard tables.

Vision Class

The Vision class stands out amongst the Royal Caribbean cruise classes because its members are not all the same. The 'Legend' and 'Splendor of the Seas' alone boast golf courses, but all members of this class have 2 acres of glass in them! This is the biggest of the Royal Caribbean cruise classes, with 6 ships in total, including the 'Enchantment of the Seas' which received an additional 74 ft midsection in 2004.
